FREQUENTLY
ASKED QUESTIONS
How
did you get involved in pet photography?
-
Plain and simple, Liberty. I was lacking inspiration and
needed a friend. So, I got a Great Dane. Seems like a logical
step, right? I have been photographing her from the moment
I got her, at the young age of 8-weeks! I realized that
there is nothing more enjoyable than capturing man's best
friend... it's a very sweet thing. And so, here I am.
How
do we get started with a shoot?
-
Call me, email me, text me! What kind of pet do you have?
Do you have anything specific in mind for our shoot?
-
Book a date. Pay a 50% deposit to hold the date so nobody
else takes your spot.
-
You'll receive an email with a list of important information.
-
You and your pet will meet with me in your home, or my studio,
or your pet's favorite park, or ... perhaps your yacht in
the West Keys? Wherever you prefer! Balance of payment is
due at the end of the shoot.
Studio:
I work alone, just your pet and me. It is a very challenging
situation because of the new environment your pet will face
(flashing lights, the backdrop, my camera, etc), and I need
full, undivided attention. And, most importantly, I need
to establish trust. After we establish a bond, we'll begin
shooting. You are welcome to join in toward the end of the
session, and we can get pictures of you together!
Location:
Join me! It's a lot of fun for everybody! Bring plenty of
tasty treats. We'll spend the entire session together, moving
around to different spots within our desired location.
What
happens after the shoot?
-
You will get a couple sneak peaks on my photoblog while
I'm processing the images. Within 7 days of the shoot, I'll
contact you to schedule an in-home visit.
-
Relax in the comfort of your own home as I visit you for
the in-home ordering session. How convenient! Your images
will be displayed on a slideshow. We'll go over all the
available products, and I'll bring samples. I'll give you
my professional opinion on what will look best for you.
We'll process your order.
-
Within 14 days, you will receive your fabulous, beautiful,
one-of-a-kind products. We will work out a time to meet
up so I can personally hand off my work to you.
-
Give your pet a big kiss for being such a great subject!
Love who loves you most!
-
Now it's time to hang the prints on your wall and admire
them forever!
How
may proofs can I expect?
-
Most shoots will provide 30-50 images from which to choose.
Why in-home ordering sessions?
-
It's the best way to view the images! Ask me questions,
and see samples of my products. We'll work together to find
what's right for you. It can be overwhelming with so many
great shots to choose from, so we'll schedule a time that
works for you.
My
pet isn't trained... Can we still do this?
-
I've got a couple tricks up my sleeve for every situation--
sometimes a couple tasty treats that just can't be turned
away works wonders, and other times it's a mix of bizarre
noises I'll make to pique their interest and curiosity.
How
many poses do I get?
-
I do not charge by the pose. This allows me to work with
your animal, rather than against them.
Do
you shoot multiple pets?
-
Of course! I'll shoot individuals and groups. If you need
extra time, we can arrange for that.
Marshall,
I'm just looking for one picture. So, what does that cost?
-
No can do. To get a handful of great shots that you LOVE
sometimes requires shooting hundreds. It's not that simple.
It's a lot of work. Plus, we all have different tastes.
Selling you just one print is not representative of my work
and is not worth the money you're spending on the session!
My clients spend an average of $800 per shoot when all is
said and done.
Can
I get in some of the pictures?
-
There's no better way to finish a shoot!
Do
you sell frames?
-
I do not. Quality framing is a specialty service in its
own. I gladly refer all of my clients to Omega Art Gallery,
Inc. located at 439 3rd Ave.
